Eco-Lips Lip Balm ($2.50 Value)

As a former Burt's Bees junkie, I always get excited when I find a new, minty vegan lip balm to try, especially one that is not reminiscent of a dentist visit!  The Sweet Mint flavor of this lip balm from Eco-Lips does not trigger any dental anxiety and is actually similar to Burt's Bees in the way that it has a refreshing tingle from the combination of peppermint and spearmint.  It is very hydrating with the help of sunflower seed oil, cocoa seed butter and vitamin E.  I have found that with this balm, there is no need to reapply it as often as I would some others.  Plus, I appreciate that it calls out "bee free" smack dab in the middle of the label.  As much as I love reading labels, it's nice when companies take out some of the legwork- Bee Free. Vegan. Done.

Cocokind Face Serum ($14 Value)

I'm sure we all know by now that coconut oil is practically holy water in disguise.  With it's myriad of uses and benefits, it only makes sense for companies like Cocokind to take advantage of its superpowers.  I have never used coconut oil on my face and have actually wanted to try it so I was delighted to see this included in the assortment.  Since my skin tends to run a little on the oily side sometimes, I was a somewhat nervous about how it would take to my skin but I was pleasantly surprised to find how light it feels and how it is easily absorbed.  Accompanied by the organic coconut oil is organic avocado oil- aiding in skin rejuvenation and organic rose hip oil- helps repair skin and promotes cell production...speaking of superpowers!

Routine Natural Deodorant ($2 Value)

And the said superpower from above continues in this lovely product, a natural, clay de-odor-cream from Routine.  Coconut oil is the first ingredient, followed by some other heavy hitters like kaolin clay, shea butter and cocoa butter.  This particular scent, Nelson in Nelson, is earthy thanks to the patchouli and vanilla oils.  I've tried my fair share of natural deodorants, finding they are mostly ok but not great.  However, I have high hopes for this one.  After wearing it for a few days, I've found that it really holds up, even through workouts and maneuvering through Whole Foods shoppers.

Goddess Garden Facial Sunscreen ($5 Value)

Being that I am older and somewhat wiser now, I am getting the hang of this sunscreen thing, no more baring my unprotected skin for an extended amount of time. The thought of premature aging sends shivers down my spine.  What I love about this facial sunscreen from Goddess Garden is the fact that it does not smell like your traditional, chemical-laden sunscreen.  It has a refreshing, subtle scent and sinks into the skin.  With beneficial ingredients on top of zinc oxide like aloe vera, shea butter, oh hello coconut oil!, sunflower oil and vitamin E, it not only protects your skin from the sun but nourishes it as well.  vegan sunscreen from green goddess

Joshik Nail Polish ($12 Value)

This gorgeous berry color was a dream to apply.  It went on so smoothly; it is neither too think or thin.  I usually manage to ruin my manicures within 24 hours, if not sooner, so I was thrilled when they showed no sign of wear and tear for a few days.  What impressed me further was they lasted through airport travel, including banging my luggage about, which is cause for a mani disaster.  It is a 7&5-free nail polish meaning there are no poisonous ingredients like formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), toluene, formaldehyde resin, camphor, parabens, xylene or triphenyl phosphate...doesn't it make you wonder why many brands still use toxic crap after reading frightening words like those?

Marrakesh Split End Mender ($6 Value)

Along with the dentist, split ends are also my nemesis which is why I was overjoyed to find the Marrakesh split end mender and preventer included in the box.  As much as I try to treat my hair like a porcelain doll, I still manage to get split ends.  If anything can help, it sounds like this particular product can.  It is jam-packed with argan oil, fortifying hemp oil, hydrolyzed wheat protein and panthenol.  It is said to seal and repair split ends while preventing future split ends.  I'm not sure if anything can really eliminate split ends except a trim (at least that's what I've always found with my hair) but at least it can seal them from splitting further.  I'm hoping if I use this cream as a preventative measure, I can bid adieu to pesky split ends...fingers crossed!
