Wear Your Veganism on Your Sleeve

It is so inspiring to see new vegan companies sprouting (pun intended) up all over place! We all know that what you wear can make a lasting, first impression, why not make it a meaningful one? Enter Vegan Slogan Tees to help! Their mission is to create sayings and slogans that are significant to the vegan community into wearable messages. And while I do love tees with detailed graphics, there is something about the minimalist ones that are refreshing; that is exactly what Vegan Slogan Tees offer, minimalistic tees that can be appreciated and worn by many.  They have a...

Attention All Cat Lovers!

Attention All Cat Lovers!...These tee's are the cat's pajamas. ;) As if I couldn’t be anymore of a crazy cat lady, I find myself currently writing about these adorable cat tees from Adventure Kitty while a cat is curled up in my lap.  If you too are no stranger to cats in your lap, I suggest you take a look at their products, I have a feeling you will like them too. A Much Needed Change

This past Monday night, I attended a panel discussion about vegan fashion and sustainability.  The event showcased four amazingly talented, vegan designers: Joshua Katcher (founder, Brave Gentleman), Leanne Mai-ly Hilgart (founder, Vaute Couture), Stephanie Nicora (founder, Nicora Johns) and Rebecca Mink (founder, Mink Shoes). Plus! They had Vromage cheese samples. If you are around or ever find yourself in Los Angeles, do you and your taste buds a favor and check them out! The discussion moderator was faculty member Taryn Hipwell from FIDM. Taryn asked the designers various questions such as “Why vegan?” and “What are the challenges of cruelty-free design”?...

Animal Welfare Trumps Swimwear

Nice to meet you… Welcome to my first post! :) Before starting Threads for Love, I had been working in the swimwear industry for the past 5 years. It was a great opportunity to grow creatively and develop my skills even further as a designer. If anyone reading this has experience in the fashion industry, you know how stressful it can be; filled with countless overtime hours, projects that appear out of nowhere that are due yesterday, the “too many cooks in the kitchen” syndrome and the always enjoyable, “Ugh, they sewed that wrong AGAIN.” I had always felt like...
