Bodisafe Beauty Lip & Cheek Color in Charmed ($20 Value)
Upon opening, I was bummed to find this product in a soup-like consistency. It appeared that the excessive heat took a toll on it. I let it rest for a couple of days in a cool environment in hopes that it would go back to more of a solid state. It did regain its formation but it remained a little chunky and goopy...it's a shame too because I LOVE the color. I tried using it both on my lips and cheeks but it still felt too liquidy. I refrigerated it for a bit and that did help somewhat but the consistency remained a little too watery. However, I will still try to use it because I hate wasting products and I really do adore the color!
Suntegrity Skincare Face & Sunscreen Primer ($4.95 Value)
After a recent trip to the dermatologist and the usual sunscreen lecture, er, reminder, I have been making a conscious effort to wear sunscreen more frequently. First of all, this primer smells like oranges, yum! I'll take that over that typical sunscreen smell any day. It soaks right into the skin and does not feel greasy at all. My liquid foundation went over it flawlessly, as you would hope for with any primer. This all-in-one has a ton of good-for-you ingredients like organic aloe vera, jojoba, sunflower, pomegranate, cucumber and green tea which provide you with extra hydration and sun protection. I would be able to write more if I could just.stop.smelling it...
Zeo Organics Aromatherapy Oil Roll-On ($14 Value)
My oh my, do I love this! I received the Refresh Oil and lemme tell ya, it is definitely what I need in the 100°F heat we've been experiencing! It is comprised of 100% organic ingredients like jojoba oil, coconut oil, lime peel essential oil, peppermint oil, ginger essential oil and spearmint essential oil. It is said to help with any queasiness, tension and anxiety. It smells so refreshing that I wouldn't mind if it was a tad more potent but other than that, this is definitely a winner in my book!
Molly Rose Balms Lip Scrub ($7 Value)
I'll admit that lip scrubs are not usually part of my routine but I absolutely love this one from Molly Rose! I appreciate that it comes in a lip balm tube, making it so easy to apply and completely mess-free. It is made of all organic ingredients like raw sugar, cocoa butter, coconut oil, lemon and orange essential oils. They suggest coating your lips with a layer of lip balm first before you get scrubbin' and then apply the scrub in a circular motion. My lips felt so soft and supple afterward; a perfect canvas for lipstick. What makes this product even better is that you can actually lick off the excess sugar when you're done! Dessert and a lip scrub...perfecto!
Nature's Shea Butter ($2.75 Value)
Love anything lavender scented and this shea butter is no exception! The ingredient list is as simple as it comes: organic shea butter, organic lavender and vanilla essential oils. I love to use it at bedtime to help calm my mind or during the day when I'm feeling a little frazzled. Since it is unrefined, it's a little tough to get out of the jar since it is in a solid form, I have to dig into it a bit but once applied to the skin, it melts in and creates almost like a protective barrier. Although I can feel it on my skin, it doesn't feel greasy, just smooth, silky and moisturized...Although I probably wouldn't recommend hugging your cat right away unless you're going for the Chewbacca look then in that case, may the force be with you.
Hello Mojito Mint Toothpaste ($1 Value)
I was a little disappointed to see this toothpaste has fluoride in it which I have been avoiding due to to the controversy surrounding it but I decided to give it a go anyway. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was not overly sweet. I felt like it did do a pretty good job of cleaning my teeth but this wouldn't be my go-to toothpaste 1.) because of the fluoride issue and 2.) although it was minty, it was still too sweet for my liking, especially when it comes to a toothpaste. Hate to be a negative Nancy but I will probably just use this as an emergency back-up or for travel...However! I do see that they have a fluoride-free, sweet mint option that I would definitely try out!
Modicum Facial Serum ($20 Value)
Wow, this serum sounds like the fountain of youth! From their website, "These oils are packed with a mighty punch for problematic skin and anti-aging benefits. Reputed for instant results of smooth glowing skin and diminishing fine lines and wrinkles...No need for an eye cream or any other moisturizer with this serum. It does it all!" Some of the oils in this magical potion are organic argan nut oil, organic rosehip seed oil, organic apricot kernel oil, organic sea buckthorn oil and organic avocado oil. First of all, it smells like a salad so props for that and it is so hydrating. Since I haven't been using it for that long, I have yet to see a difference in my fine lines but I do feel like it gives my skin a refreshed, glowing appearance.
