I've always been one to try and hold on to summer for as long as possible, especially when growing up in New England. August always meant the last hurrah before the chilly nights set in and lazy, summer days gave way to hectic school ones. Fortunately, the August 2016 Vegan Cuts beauty box was stocked with products that would keep away any end-of-summer blues!
The August 2016 beauty box soaking up the last rays of summer.
Pacifica Lip Tint in Sugared Fig ($7 Value)
It appears to be a dark color but since it is a tint, it applies lighter than it looks. It comes out as a subtle, pretty plum color. It also smells as good as it looks! It is ideal for day or night, something quick you can just apply (no mirror needed!) and head out the door. Although I do love a good lipstick, I am a fan of lip tints because they are not fussy. This particular one by Pacifica is super moisturizing and glides right on thanks to the coconut oil in it!
Adorn Cosmetics Mineral Powder ($5 Value)
I love that glowy, kissed-by-the-sun look and this mineral powder helps to achieve just that. It is a gorgeous peachy gold color that has just the right amount of shimmer to it. I actually applied it over my bronzer using the Terre Mère brush (from the May beauty box) and it created such a luminous, beautiful glow. It feels so soft and light on the skin so you don't have to worry about that cakey feeling. It is also free of palm oil, mineral oil, parabens, synthetic fragrance and colors. This will keep you glowing all year round!
Green & Gorgeous Organics Dry Shampoo ($7.99 Value)
I've come across very few dry shampoos that actually work for me. Some of the ones I have tried left a weird residue that actually made my hair feel worse. However, this one is actually pretty good. I have found that it does blend easily into the hair with little effort. After using it, my hair does feel less greasy and is more manageable for styling. For me, nothing can really replace a good ol' shower but since I've been trying to wash my hair less frequently, this will definitely be my go-to to keep any oiliness at bay. It also smells delightful!
Deco Miami Nail Polish ($12.50 Value)
I received the color Rosé All Day (hay!) and I love it! I've been gravitating towards more neutral and pinky nail colors lately and this one definitely fits the bill. I've mentioned before that my manicures tend to crap the bed about a day in so I was pleasantly surprised to find this polish lasted 3 days before it chipped! And even when it did chip, it was so slight. I have little patience when waiting for nail polish to dry so I was happy to discover this one dried pretty fast, even between coats. Beautifully pigmented, bright and an all-around happy color!
Derma E Detox Scrub ($2 Value)
I love this brand so it comes as no surprise that this scrub is awesome! This one is great because although it is a scrub, it is not too abrasive (some other ones I've used have felt like sandpaper) yet still gets the job done. It contains naturally detoxifying and purifying minerals like Kimarine Wakame (a seaweed that protects the skin against environmental pollutants), Bladderwrack (an antioxidant-rich seaweed that contributes to skin hydration and nourishment), Activated Charcoal (removes impurities from the skin) and Apricot Seed Powder (exfoliates away micropollutants).
Yes To Detoxifying Facial Wipes ($5.99 Value)
I'm a big fan of facial wipes. They are the easiest, laziest way to take off your makeup and clean your face. These wipes are wonderful! Since they are made with charcoal powder (a natural impurity remover), they are a rich, black color...so chic! It takes off makeup easily (especially layers of mascara!) and leaves skin so fresh and so clean clean without leaving that dry, tight feeling. Plus they have a refreshing, uplifting scent!
