Ofra Cosmetics Lip Gloss in "Laguna Beach" ($19.90 Value)

It was love at first sight.  I'm such a sucker for mauvey-pink lip can imagine how varied my lip stash is.  Besides being named after a guilty pleasure from early 2000's and one of the first California coastlines I fell in love with, this color "Laguna Beach" is a delightful go-to color for day or night.  It applies easily to my lips and lasts throughout most of the day.  It has a smooth, velvety consistency that your lips will thank you for.  According to Ofra's website, they say to not eat or drink for 15 minutes after applying to lock in the color.  They also advised that is not necessary to use a lip liner (I actually do not use lip liners that often, I know that's probably some sort of beauty sacrilege) with this particular liquid lipstick.  Pretty, pretty color that I can see on a variety of skin tones.

Mai Couture Oil Blotting Paper ($12 Value)

I'm not sure where you are in the world reading this but if you happen to be in Southern California you know it's been HOT.  So for me, with heat comes oil, unfortunately not in a frying pan but on my face.  I was thankful to open the box and see this lovely little booklet of blotting papers.  The directions say to press firmly over the areas with excess oil, which for me is my t-zone.  When I first used one, I was honestly expecting it to look more like a drive-thru paper bag but even though it didn't, I could tell that it really did soak up the excess oil.  You can use them over make-up which will preserve that perfect bronze glow you carefully crafted from YouTube tutorials.  Mai Couture will help keep your skin glowing all summer long!

Clarisea Charcoal Exfoliant ($3 Value)

Carrying on the oh so lovely oil talk from above, I'm always excited to try new exfoliants that are designed to dissolve excess oil and impurities from deep within your pores to obtain glowing skin...and I have yet to be disappointed with this brand.  This exfoliant is made with only four natural ingredients: sea salt, mineral salt, sweet almond powder and activated bamboo charcoal powder.  I have been mixing it with the Jojoba Company's cleansing balm (which I love! more details in this post) to create a luxurious scrub or you can just use it as is with water for a deeper cleaning.  After using it consistently, I have found that my skin feels a lot less gunky (scientific term right there) and helps my liquid foundation achieve more of a poreless finish.

pureSOL Konjac Facial Sponge ($10 Value)

I was so happy to see one of these funky, little sponges included in the beauty box!  I have been wanting to try one forever.  The sponge is made from the konjac root plant by steaming the edible fiber; no chemicals are added to the process.  It contains bamboo charcoal which has activated carbon and minerals that cleanse and absorb excess sebum (that word gives me the heebie-jeebies for some odd reason) making it ideal for oily and acne prone skin.  It comes as a hard sponge but once you submerge it in water, it softens right up.  You then can use it with or without a cleanser, massaging it in circular motions on your face. Although it becomes soft, it still gently exfoliates while moisturizing the skin.  After using it for just over a week, my skin feels a lot less oily and looks brighter.  I'm excited to keep using it to truly reap the benefits.  Plus! It comes with a nifty suction hook for easy hanging and drying!

GLOW For A Cause ($18 Value)

The scent included in the box was "Wish"- a blend of light florals, white tea and bergamot grounded by light musks.  Having never tried a solid perfume before, I was intrigued by how long the scent would last and to my surprise, it did quite well!  This vegan version (they use beeswax in their other version) is made of organic carnauba wax, organic castor oil, organic sunflower seed oil, organic mango butter, organic coconut oil and GLOW's signature perfume blends.  It's silky smooth and practically melts into the skin.  The scent is light and pleasant, perfect for the summertime!

Devita Solar Protective Moisturizer SPF 30+ ($5 Value)

Tis' the season for sunscreen...and lots of it!  This convenient product is a moisturizer and mineral sunscreen all-in-one and is awesome.  It doesn't have that "sunscreen" smell that can be way too strong.  Also, sometimes with other sunscreens, I've found there is a bit of residue that gets left behind but there is none of that with this one.  It is formulated for those that are sensitive to breakouts and is super light.  It blends in easily and doesn't leave my face feeling oily at all.  I can apply my foundation over it with ease.  I am very tempted to purchase their body moisturizer since this one works so well!

Sounds great! Can’t wait to try it! I just can’t get carried away. :) Thanks!

Thank you! PureSOL mentions that it is good for all skin types and gently exfoliates, it isn’t abrasive…I would say go for it! Yes, I just go briefly over my skin but sometimes I linger a little because I still have a fascination with it, haha. :)

Great post! I also have been wanting to try a sponge like the pureSOL Konjac Facial Sponge but I have sensitive skin so I have to be careful. Did you just briefly go over your skin?

I agree about the word sebum. :)
